Last week, we wrote about the tendency of Mark Udall campaign supporters on the net to try to attach names to Bob Schaffer and hoped that that would come to an end. It was happening daily. We counted 11 instances in 10 days.
We have an important race to run, and outsiders who lack issues to write about shouldn't indulge in name calling as a substitute.
We are happy to report that after our second comment on a day when three separate blogs called Schaffer names, the name calling has stopped. There hasn't been another instance.
We want to commend the Mark Udall campaign and his supporters for cleaning up this aspect of the campaign. Colorado voters deserve, and apparently will get a clean campaign fought on the issues.
