Udall's Bet

The 2008 Senate race in Colorado may hinge on Mark Udall's bet on the number of environmental extremists on the voter rolls compared with those who want a reasonable energy policy that benefits all of Colorado.

This week he and John Salazar played to the extremist crowd again when they attached an amendment to the "Energy Independence Act" which, if passed, will prohibit drilling on the Roan. (Note that we borrowed the term "extremist" for these groups from The Gazette.)

The AP, through the Summit Daily News is reporting that a vote on the amendment could come tomorrow night.
